Pistols & Powers
A downloadable game
A One-Page Old West Superhero RPG
Become an Old West Legend with superpowers in this One-Page RPG created and designed by Steve Saylor
What is Pistols & Powers?
Pistols & Powers is an original creation by our own Dungeon Master, Steve Saylor. It is set in the time of the Old West but with a twist. Old Tall Tales used to tell of Legends such as Billy The Kid, who shot and killed 21 men, and a bullet never hit him once. What if that Tall Tale was true? What if Billy The Kid had superpowers like super speed? That’s the premise and lore of this One-Page RPG (Role Playing Game) idea.
How do I play?
All you need to play is the ruleset that you can buy either on our store, Drive-Thru RPG, or on itch.io, a deck of playing cards, and a six-sided die. The rules are based on the basic rules of Blackjack where the player has to try to get to 21 without going over. You can change the outcome of your hand by using your character’s super power in where you can roll your “super power die” and you can add or subtract that number to your total hand.
What if I never played a RPG before?
That’s totally okay! No experience is required. As long as you and a group of friends are willing to have fun in the Old West, this ruleset is super easy to pick and learn in five minutes. There’s a character creation table on the back sheet (that helps you create your Old West Legend character) and there are example Adventure ideas as well to help create your story.
